The 36th Allgäu Rundfahrt took place on the 24 July, with good weather attracting over 2,200 amateur cyclists to take part in the event. Allgäu Rundfahrt is the largest cycling event in the Allgäu region of Germany and it offers Team WNT the opportunity to take part and present its enthusiasm for all things cycling. As in previous years, Team WNT placed a heavy emphasis on riding for a cause with the company pledging to donate one Euro for every kilometre ridden by its team members. The money raised by Team WNT totalled 16,090 Euro and will be donated to the charitable organisation Doctors without Borders.
WNT was highly visible at the 36th edition of the Allgäuer Rundfahrt, whether on the roads or, on the mountain bike trails, the prominent blue colour of the Team WNT jerseys stood out. This was no surprise as Team WNT made up more than a third of all the event’s participants, with 255 registered riders. International teams from WNT’s subsidiaries made up a large part of the participants, these included riders from 14 countries such as Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, Hungary and even China. In achieving a total distance 16,090 kilometres ridden meant that WNT was able retain its position from last year on the top step of the podium for the most kilometres ridden. It was not just employees that were part of Team WNT but customers of the cutting tool specialists joined in as well. These invited guests were able to pull on a Team WNT jersey and add 2,670 kilometres to Team WNT’s totals, which will go to an important cause.
